Grand-Prix du Canada

I can’t believe what happened last weekend at the Grand-Prix of Canada…

Yes, I’m an F1 fan. Yes I think Jacques Villeneuve still has the drive to be part of the Formula 1 Circus…

What happened over at BMW!!! ?

Why wasn’t Villeneuve called before Heidfeld? He was ahead of his teammate all weekend long. He was ahead in the race. He was at the pits first in the first part! He should have been called in before Heidfeld…

So, Heidfeld gets called before, Villeneuve can’t go real fast in the few following laps because Massa’s in front and has just enough pace in the straights to keep Villeneuve in back. Villeneuve’s called to the pits. Problem on the rear right wheel… ??? I don’t want to punish BMW-Sauber (or that particular mechanic) for that mistake but WHAT THE ****!?

Villeneuve loses 2.3 seconds then and there. When he comes out of the pits, of course he’s behind Heidfeld… Villeneuve is asked to push by his engineer… No response from Villeneuve but he does push. Is he mad because he came in after Heidfeld? Because he lost 2.3 seconds at the pits?

Ralf Schumacher in front of Villeneuve… Ralf should have quit after his 3rd stop… He was never on pace (he admitted to choosing the wrong tire compound). Anyway, in the hairpin, Villeneuve pushing hard to come back up, Ralf slow, lifts his foot off the accelerator while throwing sand back on Villeneuve’s tires… Jacques didn’t have a lot of choice.

Unfortunately this whole incident blew up his weekend, which could have been his best to date this year…

I’m just mad… I don’t want to think that this is a subtle “let our first pilot ass” à-la Ferrari but it still comes up in my mind. I hope I’m just paranoid…

I guess we’ll see next weekend!
